Glossary: Osborne House

Osborne House was built in the style of an Italian villa. It was the much-loved home of Queen Victoria and her family. The house offered them some privacy and seclusion from public. When the estate was purchased the original house was not big enough to hold the whole family so Prince Albert took charge of redesigning the place. The new Osborne House based on his ideas was done in 1851. It is located by the sea.
